Reflection on "Trends in Technology" Assignment

 Hello Claire's Corner! 

For my "Trends in Technology" project, I chose the topic of augmented reality. AR is a piece of technology that merges the real world with digital images. This technology can be used in many different sectors such as education, gaming, advertising, marketing, healthcare, and more. Despite the advantages that it has to create more immersive and interactive experiences for its users, there are a few disadvantages, including the high cost of implementation and potential for misuse. My presentation also described the potential future for AR, both with the merging of AR with AI and the growth of Smartglasses and headsets. I concluded my presentation by describing my personal thoughts on AR. I first used AR through simple Snapchat filters, making me a part of the late majority according to the Diffusion of Innovation. I first learned about AR in my basic marketing class and would love to utilize this in the future, teaching students about AR and how to apply it in the PR & advertising field. 

While learning a lot about augmented reality during this project, I also learned the importance of keeping up to date with emerging technology trends. New technology has the ability to improve many areas of life, especially education and learning. I will continue to stay involved with trends in technology to hopefully learn how to incorporate them into my own classroom!
